NSPCA reveal footage showing the apparent theft of one its female dogs from its Wicklow centre this week
The NSPCA has released a video of two individuals allegedly stealing a dog from one of its centres at Sharpeshill near Rathdrum in County Wicklow on Tuesday night this week (Jan. 27th).
Two people appear to throw a dog over a fence in the video before leaving. The charity says the female sight hound had just been neutered that day and it was likely that she was in a lot of pain.
They've appealed for anyone who may recognise the people in the footage, or who may have been in the Ballygannon Road area of Rathdrum, to contact Gardaí.
The NSPCA have released the following message on their social channels making this urgent appeal.....
...''Our staff are deeply traumatised and beside themselves with worry after a dog was stolen from our Wicklow Centre last night, just after 10pm.
What is most upsetting is the way the two individuals involved threw the dog, a Sighthound, over the fence. She had been neutered earlier that day and is currently on pain relief medication. We are extremely concerned for her safety and wellbeing.
This is just a small piece of the footage that we have of the two individuals leaving the shelter.
An Garda Síochána have been assisting us with the incident since early this morning. If you were in the Ballygannon Road area last night, recognise the two individuals, or have any information at all, please contact Wicklow (0404) 67107 or Rathdrum (0404) 46206 Garda Station immediately.''
