Councillors belonging to Wicklow Municipal District unanimously passed a Part 8 for the provision of a footpath from the car park at Brittas Bay north beach, linking Ballynacarrig.The scheme overview will involve the provision of pedestrian facilities and public realm improvements along the R750 from McDaniel’s Public House to the north car park at Brittas Bay beach.
The works will take place along the R750 road and will include alterations to the roadway and the introduction of a new footpath along one side of the roadway.The aim of the scheme is to provide a new 1.8m wide footpath along the western side of the R750, while maintaining the carriageway width of 5.5m
.Importantly, the footpath will provide safe pedestrian access to the beach from the temporary car parks along the R750 during the busy summer months.
