Loveable wolfadoodle rescue Derek is crossing his fluffy paws for your votes.
A gentle, furry giant from Co Wicklow is looking for our support. Dog lovers of Wicklow have a whole week to cass their votes for Derek. The loveable wolfhound cross rescue dog is the only Wicklow entrant in the Nose of Tralee.
The pet competition is run by Pet Sitters Ireland.
Derek's pawrents Alex Wheatley and Mairéad Grennan live in Wicklow town. They welcomed their fluffy pup into their home in August of last year, as a rescue from Dogs Trust Ireland. He won't be two until next February.
Derek has well-earned reputation as an apprentice. He travels to work with Alex everyday servicing central heating systems. He is their number one priority, say Alex:

Derek is a big gentle fluffy giant. All our family and friends absolutely adore him. He is very much part of our crew now.
Mairéad saw the Nose of Tralee advertised online and decided to enter Derek into the competition after
We put a photo up and got family and friends to vote. Then we were told Derek had made it through to the next stage, which would be judged by independent judges. Derek was chosen as the Wicklow Nose finalist. We'd love to see him succeed
The competition is now based on public votes. So, come on Wickow - let's do it for Derek!
The voting closes at 5pm on August 18th. You can vote once every 24 hours.
