Blessington is set for an exciting project that will see the regeneration of the town over the next few years.
Wicklow County Council have signed the contract for the development of a Town Centre First Masterplan for Blessington.
As part of the national Town Centre First Policy, Blessington has been identified as a ‘pathfinder’ town and funding has been granted to Wicklow County Council for the development of the plan. As a ‘pathfinder’ town, Blessington will serve as a model for regeneration plans for other towns in the county.
The aim of the Town Centre First Policy is to create town centres that function as viable, vibrant and attractive locations for people to live, work and visit. The town centre is envisaged to function also as the service, social, cultural and recreational hub for the local community.
The plan will be developed in partnership with the people of Blessington and led by the Town Regeneration Officer.
