Wicklow County Council signed a contract with Coffey Construction (Ireland) Ltd for the construction of the Delgany to Blacklion (Chapel Road) Pedestrian and Cycle Improvement Scheme.
DBFL Consulting Engineers have also been appointed by the council to provide technical support throughout the construction phase.
This upgrade project will enhance the final two sections of Chapel Road, extending from the Chapel Road/Convent Road Roundabout north to Blacklion Manor Road at Seagreen.
The improvements will include upgraded footpaths, the addition of cycle track facilities and enhancements for vehicular traffic, which will involve the realignment and widening of Chapel Road.
Coffey Construction (Ireland) Ltd is set to begin construction work on a phased basis in the coming weeks.
