Wicklow County Council is planning to re-surface the playground in Charlesland.
Wicklow County Council is planning to re-surface the playground in Charlesland. The matter was discussed at the March meeting of the Greystones Municipal District.
Councillor for Greystones Stephen Stokes stated:
"This is an important issue. Several local residents wrote to me about the condition of Charlesland playground. In essence there are a number of holes, which have grown steadily. The playground surface is over 10 years old, and is in need of freshening up.
"Providing safe play areas for children is vital. Wicklow County Council advised that it may take some time though, as it is a special project to organise.
"We much stay focused on maintaining our local amenities, like the Charlesland playground. In addition I will continue to press for more facilities in Charlesland, Delgany, Greystones, Kilcoole, Killadreenan and Newcastle."
