A Greystones councillor is calling for Dr Ryan Park to be ‘fenced off’ after alleged anti-social behaviour at the park over Halloween.
There was a bonfire in the park and litter was also strewn around while Cllr Mitchell claims that fireworks and stones were being thrown at people’s houses.Cllr Derek Mitchell said: “On Halloween and many nights before there was bad disorder on this council property. People were forced out of their houses by fireworks and stones being flung at their houses and cars by a group of 30+ teenagers.“The videos of it looks like a war zone”, he said. A spokesperson for Wicklow Fire Service confirmed they were called to the bonfire on Halloween night as were the gardai. He said the fire service did a risk assessment of the blaze and decided the bonfire should be left to run its course as it did not pose a direct risk to property or the immediate area. The fire service also confirmed there were fireworks being let off in the general area.
