Three Students from Bray have taken the top award at this year’s Young Environmentalist Awards.
Katrina Smyth, Erica Brierton, and Aoife Blount from Loreto Secondary School in Bray were named the Overall Senior Category Winners for their project Seedling Swap.
They developed a ‘seed library’ in their school community, encouraging others to bring their own seeds into school to swap with the ones in the library.
Another project from students at Loreto, The Rainwater Rescuers won the Senior Water Category.
The Awards programme recognises and rewards young people aged between 10 and 18 who have taken environmental action to benefit their community, or created awareness about climate change and developing creative solutions to solve environmental issues.
