Taoiseach Simon Harris has announced €3 million in funding for Wicklow County Council’s Ballywaltrim Library.
The Libraries Capital Programme 2023-27 will provide over €25m funding for 11 library infrastructure projects and 12 mobile library vehicles.Speaking today, Mr. Harris said “Investing in libraries is investing in people and their potential. I believe Government should always invest in making sure people get to reach their full potential and libraries help to do just that.“Today is a good day for Wicklow, with major funding coming on stream to revamp Wicklow County Council’s Ballywaltrim Library. Government plays a huge role in ensuring our libraries are kept to a 21st century standard.“It is great to hear that across the country we are delivering first class library services to communities by investing millions into new facilities. I have always placed significance importance to libraries around County Wicklow and I want to see Government continually invest in more upgraded facilities to meet the needs of library users.He concluded “As a representative for the people of Wicklow I will always make sure Government funds local services like libraries.“
