Bray Dart Interchange Project Goes To Construction, Due For Completion By 2025

Bray Dart Interchange Project is ready to go to construction and implementation stage following the appointment of a contractor, David Walsh Civil Engineering.

This week  Wicklow Minister Simon Harris engaged with Wicklow County Council’s Active Travel Team and can confirm progress on Bray Dart Interchange Project.

Speaking today Minister Harris said: “This is a really positive and long awaited development for Bray.

“The project is going to provide high quality interchange between key transport modes of walking, cycling, taxi, bus and rail at Bray Train Station.

“Public transport is of huge importance to the people of Bray and Wicklow so I am delighted projects like this are getting to go ahead to create a more sustainable and more practical interchange system between different modes of transport

“For years we have been waiting for this project to get kick started and it is very welcome news that the project is going to construction stage now.

“This is going to breathe new life into the surrounding area and promote commercial activities for businesses in the area.

The works that are set to commence include:

•        Provision of underground electricity supply
•        New footpaths and carriage for improved sustainable transport infrastructure
•        Landscaping features to enhance the public space
•        And extensive works to the surface water drainage system for the areas under construction. 

Minister Harris concluded: “The works should be concluded within 12 months which is great news and promises a bright new future for the area."

The Active Travel Team and appointed Contractor will be liaising with all stakeholders in the coming weeks providing details on each phase of the project and the arrangements that will be  put in place to facilitate the construction works and look to work with those affected by these works for their duration.
