It’s Irish music month on East Coast FM and with other independent radio stations across the country we’re showing our love and gratitude to the amazing Irish music makers and creators out there, by going over and above in every way we possibly can.

 That means:

As part of Irish Music Month East Coast FM is looking for Ireland’s newest Local Hero! 

Each of the 21 participating independent radio stations have selected four acts, who have been battling it out to be selected as their radio station's nominated finalist and representative in a national competition. This will ultimately see 6 acts perform live at Dublin's Academy on Tuesday 15th of October – at the end of which one act will emerge as A New Local Hero for Ireland to celebrate – and listen to! 

The winning act:

Will win 5K in cash, 5K in recording time in the world class Camden Recording Studios AND national airplay, expert mentoring and industry support! 

PLUS - They will have their song released by the Rubyworks Record Label and see that song enjoy airplay across all participating 21 radio stations 

Last week on The Morning Show we introduced you to our four finalists. The judges have deliberated and we can now reveal that the East Coast FM nominated finalist going forward to the national stage of 'A Search for a New Local Hero is Melo Bliss!'

 

Melo Bliss is a four piece indie outfit from the hills of Blessington, creating nostalgic noise destined to make you feel good.  As a band, their main goal is to connect with people through their sound. They take inspiration from artists such as the Pixies, Amy Winehouse and Foo Fighters.
