  • Arklow Maritime Museum, in the town of Arklow in County Wicklow, displays information on the maritime history of Arklow, focusing in particular on its boat building, lifeboat and fishing traditions. On display are photographs of the port dating back to the mid 19th century as well as models of vessels built in Arklow, tools, navigational equipment, paintings and artefacts.   • The National Botanic Gardens, Kilmacurragh lie within an estate developed extensively during the 19th century by Thomas Acton in conjunction with David Moore and his son Sir Frederick Moore, Curators of the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin at that time. 

    Kilmacurragh is open all year round, except for Christmas Day. The grounds are free to enter  and Acton Café offers coffee and lunches on site.
