A second person has been arrested in connection with an investigation into alleged corruption at the Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board.
A woman in her 30s was detained yesterday and taken to Naas Garda station for questioning after a report into the KWETB raised serious concerns about the tendering and procurement procedures at the board.
Last month a man in his 50s was arrested and questioned as part of an ongoing Operation Lakefront investigation.
A Department of Education investigation and a Comptroller and Auditor General report last year raised concerns about a number issues at the Education and Training Board.
The audit found the ETB repeatedly broke public contract rules and indulged in what it described as “excessive” spending.
