Property prices dropped slightly by 0.2 per cent from March to April, according to the Central Statistics Office.
The cost of buying a home increased by 0.5 per cent from the same month in 2019.
Prices in Dublin declined by 0.1 per cent, while the largest rise in house prices was in the west at 5.8 per cent.
Just over 2,350 properties were sold in April, which is down almost 35 per cent on the CSO's figures from March.
The highest average prices outside Dublin were in Wicklow at €330,000 and Kildare at €310,000, while the lowest price was €105,000 in Leitrim.
