Plans to install public toilets in South Dublin at a cost of €3 million have been described as 'ridiculous'.
A motion to install 14 public toilets in the Southside was submitted at a council meeting in October.
It was agreed an amended feasibility study would be done on toilets in certain suburbs.
However, Fine Gael Councillor David McManus says the facilities which are being proposed cost anything from €250,000 upwards per unit.
But Independent Councillor Eoin O Broin is the man who put forward the proposal and he says the figure is being exaggerated:
The majority of Councillors have voted in favour of this feasability study being carried out.
