Public Asked To Keep Away From Seals Sheltering On Wicklow Beaches

Members of the public are being urged to stay away from an adult seals and their  pups that may use beach areas in Wicklow to shelter from storm Lorenzo.


Already cases have been reported of Seals and their young taking shelter on Bray beach, Ennerielly  Beach and Arklow.

Seals are known to abandon their young if they detect human scent on their pup and gardai have warned people to keep their dogs on leads and not to approach any seals they see along the coast.
