Further Calls Made To Combat Anti Social Behaviour On DART Trains

A dedicated public transport police could help combat a rise in anti-social behaviour on trains.

Irish Rail dealt with 789 complaints across its network last year, 100 more than the year before.
Irish Rail wants to make those kind of incidents easier to report.
You text the word TRAIN followed by the location, carriage number, and details of the incident to 51444.

It'll be sent to a live-monitored security centre during operational hours which can then contact security teams.

The company say they'll also be putting more staff on trains to crack down on anti-social behaviour.
Irish Rail is also to introduce up to 200 body cameras for staff to help combat anti-social behaviour on train and Dart services.

It's hoped workers will be kitted out before the end of this year.
