Taoiseach Simon Harris has announced an extra €1,279,015 for repairs and improvement works on non-public rural roads under the Local Improvement Scheme.
Bed-levelling works are due to begin shortly in Wicklow Port.
A protest was held outside the Taoiseach's home last night.
Authorities are trying to find the source of an apparent oil spill which appears to be causing major issues for wildlife along the Wicklow and Wexford coast.
